Ok, so for the last 3 weeks or so, I have been taking harmonica lessons once a week after school. I could've taken guitar lessons, but I already play guitar some, or at least well enough for a lot of the things I wanna do. So I decided harmonica would be a good place to start something new. Soon I will be able to play songs like ma boy Bob. Then, two or three weekends ago, I went to the fair in Liege with some friends, which was a blast! We had to leave early because we had a Rotary event in Namur the next morning, which meant being on the train at 7:20 in the morning. (Oh, and there are plenty of pics on Facebook of the fair)
I gave my first presentation in History class a week or two ago! I talked for about 5 or so minutes on the American Revolution. I kinda wish I had payed better attention in history... But I did fine and the teacher was very pleased that I tried. She had to correct me a few times here and there with french words, but she was impressed that I knew about Rochambeau and La Fayette. Also, the class liked when I said all the 13 original colonies in English, but just because they liked hearing me talk in my native tongue.
Then, a weekend ago I woke up Saturday morning and helped out the Scouts. It is a program much like the boy/girl scouts in America, except it is co-gender, and much cooler than the scouts in the states. I was an "animateur" or a chaperone, though really I didn't do a whole lot. I was just there so that the adult-to-kid ratio was a little stronger, I think. But I did it with Diego and his older host brother, and we had fun. Oh, and we played Rugby. Except there weren't really any rules. There were 7 broken fingers and a concussion. Just kidding. But for real, it was intense, and lots of fun. :)
Then, that night, I went again with Diego to a David Guetta concert. He is like a DJ for techno music, and apparently he is really famous and popular, though I had no idea who he was. Anyways, it was a ton of fun! We stayed out until like 7 in the morning, so we were all extremely exhausted, but it was worth it! There are also lots of pictures on Facebook of the concert, but I will put up some more in this post, seen below.
The scouts, or about a fifth of them
My host cousin, doing something he probably shouldn't be. He's the one climbing up the broom.
This is what happens when you tell a 15-year-old girl "sure, you can write on my face with a marker"
Yo y mi mayor amigo del mundo, Diego!
On the way to play Rugby
Later that night, in Liege, getting ready for the concert
My new friends I met through Diego
Diego and I outside the concert, waiting in line
Diego and I plus one
Diego and I plus 3.
Some exchange students taking a break from the concert.
Some more exchange students taking a break
And the fun restarts!
Veronica having lots of fun! This was at like 3:30 in the morning I think...
The next morning I woke up like this and I have no idea where the jewelry came from... Haha just kidding, they belong to my friend Mariana. I wore them because there was this guy that kept hitting on her, and she finally just asked me if I could play the part of her boyfriend for the night. So I wore her jewelry to be more convincing... Though really, I think I just put it on because I was just a little bit drunk and thought it would be funny. (For all my Rotary readers, this was a joke, do not take it seriously, please.)
I also woke up with a tattoo I don't remember getting... Sorry, Rotary, but I broke a pretty huge D... ;) just kidding, again. This was the stamp to get into the bathrooms.
Anyhow, I hope everyone liked this post, I have another one on the way, with about 300 photos of my vacation in France. But seriously, there were 278 photos. Needless to say, I will not be adding all 278. It would take hours. But I will put up a lot of them. Hope you enjoy! And don't change the channel, we'll be right back! To be continued...
